ComEd is still responsible for delivering the electricity and maintaining the wiring and other infrastructure. Thus, your delivery charges and taxes will remain the same. As a result, you may be able to achieve some savings on your electricity bill.

There are many different electricity suppliers all competing for your business. You can visit the Illinois Commerce Commission’s Plug In lllinois site to better understand your options. In addition, the Citizen Utility Board offers information including updated terms and rates from the various Electricity Supply Vendors. Please be aware of any monthly fees, contract length, and early termination fees, before signing up with any of the suppliers.
